Piedmont goes 4 W I D E at the Spring Slamboree!!!

Not to be outdone by Z max Dragway, Piedmont Dragway had its first 4 wide run in over 50 years! Charter members, Roger Whitaker, Chris Cowles, Justin Samuel and one other who will remain nameless for reasons of privacy or craziness, came to the line and made the first 4 wide side by side run in Piedmont history in two lanes! Over 1500 spectators and participants jammed in the gates to witness the annual Spring Slamboree today. Activities included drag racing, burnout contest, beer run, audio contest, and the world famous bikini contest.

Four great contestants entered the bikini contest with Jessica Collins of Elkin NC winning in a very close contest. The burnout contest was won when “Acman” as named by Extreme, blew up his tire in the water box. Many tried but only one was at the top in the beer run where contestants had to hold a can of beer on the roof all the way down the Piedmont 1/8th mile the winner was Kaleb Pettigrew of Ruffin NC. Car show judging and the sound contest by Auto Acoustics were a great success!
